Usually each little village or hamlet is all the same religion. As far as looks it's pretty easy to tell who's who. Of course the Muslim little boys wear the cap thingies. And Muslim women wear salwar kameez, but instead of having the dupatta (shawl) draping around their necks they have it over their head. They are a little more covered up.
This blog started as a way to keep in touch with family while I lived and worked in Jodhpur, India. Since then I've been in France, Germany, Belgium, back to Alabama, back to France...and now in Alabama again. So, it's a little bit travel, a little bit cross-cultural, a little random and maybe politically incorrect. As of August 2009 it will focus more on international everything in Birmingham. Next up is a sojourn to ARGENTINA in December 2009.

Are all of the desert people that you work with Hindu or are some of them Muslim? And how do they differ?
