Well, she wanted to know more about FSD...and we talked about how NGOs and the government can better coordinate their efforts and reach more people. There seems to be alot of competition between the two...and not much focus on the actual work they are supposed to be doing. We talked about the government programs and "schemes" aimed at alleviating poverty...many of which local NGOs could really benefit from. Pretty much I guess it was a networking meeting. But some "important" people were there.
This blog started as a way to keep in touch with family while I lived and worked in Jodhpur, India. Since then I've been in France, Germany, Belgium, back to Alabama, back to France...and now in Alabama again. So, it's a little bit travel, a little bit cross-cultural, a little random and maybe politically incorrect. As of August 2009 it will focus more on international everything in Birmingham. Next up is a sojourn to ARGENTINA in December 2009.
